Things taken out of LO1 Task 2
Charles will always look at her like a sister which isn't the affection she wants so she joins magneto. So every Mutant within this has some form of power hence that is what makes them a mutant so I will go over the basic powers within the main few characters. So Magnetos power is the fact he can control metal with his mind wether it is manipulating its shape or making it move from one place to another, Mystique has the ability to take the physical form of anyone of her choosing and is able to manipulate her voice to match the physical appearance she has taken, Charles Xavier is able to read minds and is very intelligent, Beast has the ability to cling to things like a magnet with his abnormal shape and later gains some super strength after injecting himself with something he belives will turn him normal but the effect somehow gets reversed and he gets blue fur and an incredible amount of strength. This helps show Beast was insecure with his physical appearance and just wanted to be accepted he unlike the others with insecurity's stay with Charles as hr has seen where having insecurity's can lead someone.
The main prop within this is a coin which really helps the narrative it is shown at the start of the film during the middle magneto is playing with it floating it around in-between his fingers and then magneto uses it to kill one of the main protagonists within this. The coin is denoted for having two sides so this helps to denote to the audience that there are two sides to every story within this.

This lesson I have learnt these three pieces of terminology
1) Foley Sound this is how different sounds are made using objects.
2) Diegetic sounds this is sounds that are coming from within the story world.
3) Non Diegetic which are sounds that aren't coming from the story world, such as a dramatic piece of music.

LO2 Task 3 - Audience for X-Men First Class
Intro
For my Vlog 3 I shall be talking about the audience and how an audience is chosen for specific products. I shall be continuing on from Vlog 2 with the film X-Men first class.
An Imaginary Entity
For my Vlog 3 I shall be talking about the audience and how an audience is chosen for specific products. I shall be continuing on from Vlog 2 with the film X-Men first class.
An Imaginary Entity
John Hartley and Ien Ang
1991 both said that people who create media products also create an
imaginary entity within their mind. They do this to help decide who their
product is going to be catering for, and what it would have within it to help
satisfy that particular demographic here is an example for X-Men first class:
Imaginary Entity For
X-Men first class
Billy is a 16 year old who
loves going to the cinema every Saturday. Before he goes to the cinema he books
his tickets online using his iPhone 4, which is his favourite piece of
technology that he owns. He particularly loves going out on Saturdays with
his three friends because it usually means grabbing a bite to eat, usually at
McDonald’s, which is Billy's fast food place of choice. When he eventually
gets to the cinema he purchases a bottle of Pepsi from the cinema. But his
favorite part of the day is when he gets to relax at the
cinema and become absorbed within a new super hero film usually marvel as he
believes DC has a fairly boring cast of characters. His favorite pastimes
outside of going to the cinema involves playing games on his PlayStation 3
usually GTA as he enjoys the escapism aspects to his video games as well
as his film preferences. He has a fairly large collection of comic books,
which he trades with his friends for other comic books, as he likes
to have a vast knowledge of the world of super heroes so he can compare certain
aspects of certain heroes.
NRS
NRS stands for National
Readership Service. They define people into category's including, Including lifestyle
which is the way somebody lives there life as well as Spending power which
is somebody's disposable income.
Disposable income
X-Men first class is
targeted towards an ABC1 audience which is at 60%. This includes upper middle class, middle
class as well as lower middle class. A global film company such as 20th Century
Fox wants to target a mass audience and this is the ideal demographic to target
as they have the most income coming in. As opposed to a film who's target audience is a niche audience which is where a film isn't tailored for global consumption but for a specific area or a particular topicThe reason as to why they want to
target such an audience is because this film cost 237 million to make and the
ideal would be to make this money back with a profit. The thing about X-Men
first class is that it can be marketed towards younger children as Fox have
produced merchandise including posters and action figures for this film. These
would both easily be marketed towards a younger audience that may have not even
seen the film and just know of the franchise and are familiar with the heroes
this is another reason as to why Fox are aiming towards an ABC1 audience as
they will be able to afford these kind of products.
Gratification
Theory
The uses and Gratification
theory created by Denis McQuail (1972). This is about the reason as to why
people decide to watch specific films. The main reasoning as to why someone
would watch X-Men first class is for the feeling of escapism which is all about
people forgetting about their own life and getting absorbed into fictional
characters own problems which are for more interesting and unrealistic
interesting compared to their own. This sort of films goal is to get the
audience so invested within the characters they form some sort of emotional
connection with them. This therefore makes the film more interesting
and the chances of the audience viewing any sequels or watching the other films
is far higher.
Star Persona’s, Ideal
selves as well as Ideal partners
Carl Rogers (1980) came up
with a theory about ideal partners as well as idea selves. An Ideal self is an
actor that the audience would look up to within a film, almost like a role
model. Within X-men first class Charles Xavier played by James McAvoy
could be an ideal self for a male viewer as he comes across as the most
intelligent character within this film and is the leader of the group, which is
something a stereotypical male would aspire to be in real life. An ideal
Partner within this film would be Raven who is played by Jennifer Lawrence as
she would be attractive to most of the males who watch this and as X-men
first class's gender demographic is mostly males they have included her
partly due to her appearance to capture the male gaze. But Jennifer Lawrence
has also been chosen due to the fact she is a Star Persona which is a
theory made by Richard Dyer (1975) which is the fact Jennifer Lawrence is a
very well known actor after being in the film Winter's Bone this made her well known
so people who are a fan of her work are more likely to watch X-men first class
which is another reason as to why she would have been cast to play one of the
main characters within this film Mystique.
Lifestyle
This will appeal to people with the lifestyle of:
Producers as they are interested to see what kind of things they could pastiche or get inspired off by this film. Because this film uses a lot of special effects wither it be CGI to add wings onto a character or explosions to connote danger. This film has a huge budget and therefor shows what aspiring producers or current producers should be aiming to create a film that is as successful as X-Men first class.
Thriving Greys This would be good for thriving greys as it is a nice way to sit back and relax as the story has quite a few plot twists within it to keep people with this sort of lifestyle entertained for an extended period of time.
Urban Ventures this film is good for students as this is a fairly cheap film to watch wither they stream it online or buy it on DVD or even if they went to watch it when it was first released. Watching a film is quite an easy form of entertainment to access.
Affluent Achievers this too is something to spend their money on and relax as the story can appeal to people with all sorts of intelligence as it has a fairly complex story or for people who aren't as intelligent it can appeal to them as it has lots of action in it wither it be glass smashing or explosions.
Gender
The main gender for
X-Men first class is primarily males, as they stereotypically prefer action
films more than females do. But this film is easily accessible to both genders
because it also has a fairly complex storyline as well as a lot of action. But
X-Men is generally associated with action so automatically gets marginalised as
a fairly "dumb" sort of film, so this will be more likely to pick up
a male demographic as again stereotypically males prefer action films. This is why 75% of the demographic are male and the other 25% being female. A few examples from the film to back up this is targeted towards a male audience, could include the fact that Charles and Eric go to a strip club to seek out a mutant and obviously within this scene there are quite a few females wearing very little clothes this has purposefully been encoded to capture the male gaze, and therefor is targeted at a male demographic. Another example could be the scene when Shaw attacks this scene is jammed packed with action as you can see and helps back up the points I was making before about this being an action film and therefor stereotypically being aimed toward a male audience.
Age
The target age group for
X-men first class is above the age certificate it has been given which is
recommended at a 12. But I would say it is aimed at a more mature audience as
this films drops the F bomb within it, which parents may argue, isn't
appropriate for their child to watch or hear. This film appears to be made for
males in their early to late teens between the ages of 13 to 35 but is very
accessible for any age group above 12. The reason as to why I would say that
this is aimed at such an age group is because it is full of action, which
generally associated with a male audience as well as the amount of females,
which are dressed in little clothing.

Mood board aswell as imaginary entity
Reader profile:

The comic book has been put on the mood board because it directly relates to X-men because x-men is primarily a comic book as are most other superhero films similar to it so people that enjoy X-men enjoy comics. This also justifies why the Marvel and DC comics logos are also on the mood board.

LO1 Task 2 - Analysis of X-Men First Class
Intro
For my Vlog 2 I will be analysing X-men First class which is a successful film by 20th Century Fox which I went over in Vlog 1. Within this Vlog I will be talking about the purpose, genre, form, style, content, meaning as well as the production process of this film.
Purpose
The purpose of this film is to engage and entertain the audience for 132 minutes for several reasons one of them may be to get good reviews as this may help influence others to go and see this film and therefor generate more money for 20th century fox. Also by making a good film now this may inspire people to view the prequels of this film and make the franchise more popular and again generate more money.
Genre
The genre for this film is a science fiction film as it shows humans with powers that are called mutants. You can tell this is science fiction as it isn't something that has happened or could happen but is still based on Earth.
Content and Meaning
The Mise en Scene within this has been encoded (everything has been purposefully placed) in a way that is meant to help create the preferred reading (Stuart Hall 1980).
this can be done in several different ways including camerawork, sound, editing, production process, narrative as well as costume and makeup.
Narrative
Todorov's theory of having a narrative structure has been used within this film. This theory is about the narrative structure which involves an equilibrium, where everything is in order and balanced, then there is a disruption to the equilibrium and then there is a resolution which helps bring back the equilibrium the narrative will have been planned out during post production as there wont be a film to create if no narrative has been made.
The narrative for X-Men First Class also uses Levi Strauses theory of binary opposition (1958) , which is Good Vs Evil. We have the good mutants thats primary purpose is to help defend the human race from the bad mutants. But this film makes it so the audience can relate to both sides of the argument. But despite the fact the "bad" mutants don't want to be experimented on or enslaved which is what they belive their outcome will be if things carry on as they are, the audience will obviously side with the "good" mutants as they are defending the human race which is easier for the audience to put themselves in the situation of a civilian and therefor side with the mutants that are trying to defend the human race.
The basic narrative for this is that there are two sets of mutants the ones that fear the human race and decide that the best way to deal with them is by wiping them out or enslaving them to become rulers of their ideal world, where mutants don't feel the need to hide who they are, this set of mutants are the enigmas and are the main part of the disequalibrium as they want to create a dystopian world. The other set of mutants are the antagonists that want to defend the human race and feel what the bad mutants are doing is immoral and the only way to stop them is by fighting them, which helps to save the human race.
One of the preferred readings I can connote from this film is the fact that people shouldn't be insecure and should embrace who they are which doesn't mean that you will become an evil villain for not doing this but the fact it can take you down a darker path compared to being more secure with yourself and not fearing those who are different.
All of this will have been thought out during pre production because if there is no narrative then there is no film to make, which excludes the production process as well as the post production process.
Form
The form for this is a full feature length film that has been made for an ABC1 audience as they have a more disposable income and as this film has been designed to be played within cinemas that would be a requirement to make a successful film. This film isn't only made for cinema as a DVD for this has been released for this on September 2011 and was released in cinemas on June 2011 as this will help produce more money for 20th century fox which is the entire point of releasing a film to a mass audience.
Style
This film has a nostalgic feel to it within the first shot we get an establishing shot of Oxford University which helps to connote to the audience that the main characters within this are going to be fairly intelligent. The way this has a nostalgic feel to it is because within the first few minutes within the film we already get to know that this is set during some kind of war and you can tell that this is set during a period within the past because of the costume as that Eric is wearing fairly old style clothing. This will have been planned during pre production but executed during the production process itself
Sound
non diegetic
To start off with I will be discussing non digetic sound this is a sound that clearly isnt happening Within the story world such as music or powerful songs that help to make up the film score or a sound motif badge an example of this would be Darth Vaders iconic breathing
within xmen first class as soon as this clip starts we get an example of non diegetic sound throughout this clip for up to 58 seconds there is some dramatic music playing to show what is happening is an act of one of the enigmas within this film starting to create a disequilibrium. This is effective as it fades out when loud noises are made such as the glass smashing and then comes back into earshot when no loud sounds are being made to helps to add to the spectacle
Diegetic sound
is sound that appears is coming from within the story world of the film or TV program and helps create the preferred reading this can include Dialogue Sound Effects this includes Foley sound use materials to make sounds
These are added during production and the post production of the film to help create a preferred meaning
sound effects and dialogue in particular are planned carefully during pre production
Sound effects are meant to captivate an audience and grab attention to an object or subject
off screen - sound you can hear that isn't in the scene. An example of a scene that has been well thought out is when Charles Xavier is trying to chat up a woman at the bar and talks about her "heterohcrhomia is in reference to your eyes which I have to say are very stunning" he then uses the same concept to chat up another woman about her auburn hair
a diegetic sound effect used in this is "put that man down or we will open fire" at 0:17 this is effective as it shows they are against what the enigma is doing but the character saying it is so irrelevant compared to what is going on we do not get to see him. at 0:14 there is some sort of tornado
Location
X-men first class is primarily set in 1962 England during the cuban missile crisis this helps to connote a time of danger for the audience. This is thought out in the pre production stage of the planning by a location scout. The scene I will be focusing on is based in division X which is a top secret CIA base, you can tell this is meant to be a secret base as denoted within this scene are military weapons such as missiles which you would not expect to find in a place of public access this helps to connote danger and helps give the audience a sense of foreshadowing that something bad is about to happen and those weapons will be used.
Characters and acting gestures
The characters within this are encoded to help create binary opposition good vs evil (Claude Levi Strauss) But within this there is a lot of middle ground characters you aren't sure what their intentions are as people already know magneto is one of the main bad guys within the entire xmen franchise but within this he is depicted as being one of the good guys up until the end but if you are familiar with the xmen franchise you will be expecting this plot twist so the creators of this have to make the transition from good to bad really interesting within this film as it would be very easy to lose someone's attention as they already know one of the main plot twists so they add over pieces within this puzzle to entice a fan of x-men such as mystique who's main power is to take the form of others and also manipulate her voice they use mystique and show how she too was a good guy until she decides to join Shaw to help keep someone familiar with the X-men story they decide to add a romantic twist between magneto and mystique which helps make the plot more interesting as magneto appreciates mystique in her natural form which is blue with red hair whereas
this is clear as there are a lot of generic soldiers within this scene which helps to anchors he theme of danger and malice which is fairly stereotypical of a film within this genre. The fact the soldiers are encoded to connoted the fact they are there to protect and also helps spark the question if they can't stop Shaw (the main protagonist) then who else can? You can tell that the soldiers are in such a way that shows they are only set up for death as they all blend into one, and this helps connote how worthless they are.
Within this film there are a lot of gestures used to help denote that the mutants are suing their specific power an example of this would be Charles Xavier uses his two finger and places them on his temples to help show the audience what they are hearing is from his mind and that he is either sending telepathic messages or is reading someone's thoughts.
Magneto stick out his hand and uses a wrist movement to help show the audience that he is moving the metal objects which helps show the audience he is the one doing this.
costumes
At the start of this film Charles Xavier is wearing a suit which helps connote he is from a fairly well off family in the final scene he is in a yellow and blue action suit this helps to create a juxtaposition for the audience which helps to show the change within his character for the audience as he progresses within this film from a fairly immature student who is very intelligent but to leader of a group of super mutants with different ability's
The costume and makeup for this film is very elaborate and has carefully been thought out. This film was made after the first X-men films but the time period is made before them so they have to carefully make the characters such as mystique look younger and yet have some resemblance to the mystique in the previous films that were made. Mystique is a mutant that can take the form of any human but inn her regular form her skin is blue with little bumps on that help create a pattern this has mostly been achieved with makeup but I imagine that some substance has been applied to help amplify the fact she is a mutant her costume is very important to the narrative of this as it helps. when we first see hank who later turns into the beast he is wearing a lab jacket and protective eye wear this helps connote to the audience that he is a man of intelligence and is some form of scientist which is later confirmed when we find out he is trying to come up a cure to reverse his mutation so he can become "normal"
Props
Within this film many props are used as it is a massive budget that has been spent on this film one of the main props used within this are weapons, that are primarily guns which helps connote danger to the audience but a preferred reading as to why this has been encoded for this could be guns and weapons are worthless and rather than fighting we are better off talking and discussing problems as the guns are useless against the mutants so rather than focusing on killing each other we should concentrate on making society a better place the fact that the humans condemn the mutants by locking them away starts to raise a major issue within society is that we don't embrace new things and change.
Camera Angles and Shot Types
This film uses a variety of camera angles to help denote the preferred meaning a camera angle within this, is a POV camera shot which is from the angle of an officer looking through a pair of binoculars, this helps put the audience within the officers shoes as he is having missiles fired at his ship. This helps to get the audience more involved within the film.
A depth of field at 0:6 to show that Charles Xavier is an important character within this you can connote that the background characters aren't as important as him and that he is the main character within this. A close up is also used within this shot helps to emphasise the emotion on his face.
Also an establishing shot this is to introduce the scene as oxford London the title graphic helps to denote this time this helps to connote the fact they are at a prestigious university and that the people will be intelligent within this
Production Process
Pre Production is all about how the film production is planned this will include the high budgeting on this film, as this is a massive blockbuster, luckily for 20th century fox they have a huge budget they can put towards a film. And with the franchise being so popular they are almost guaranteed to make their money back. In the pre production process they will have to keep in mind. Casting, narrative/ script and locations also costume and makeup.
During the production process a range of specialist in several different fields would have to be on hand, including pyrotechnics, stunt men, camera men and even specialists in lighting. The director would be dictating everything that would go down on set, to capture the image that he would have for the script.
And the post production process would be all about editing the film into a linear order to ensure continuity throughout the film. Also sound would come into play because special sound effects will need to be added ass well as a consistent sound.
For my Vlog 2 I will be analysing X-men First class which is a successful film by 20th Century Fox which I went over in Vlog 1. Within this Vlog I will be talking about the purpose, genre, form, style, content, meaning as well as the production process of this film.

What I have learnt within todays lesson
In this session I have learnt about the NRS definitions, as well as the Uses and Gratifications theory to ensure I have made progress I need to upload the pictures of the written work onto my blog.

Target Demographic Draft
I think the gender for X-Men first class is oriented more to a male demographic but is still easily accessible for both genders.
I would say that this film is aimed to people who are above 12 as that is what has been depicted as the age rating this has been chosen because there is one swear word

LO1 task 2 analysis draft
The film I am analysing is Xmen first class
the purpose of this film is to entertain the audience and keep them engaged for an extended period of time which will then help give the film good reviews and therefor more exposure
The genre of this film is an action/sci fi film
This is also a long film running for 2 hours 12 minute
This film is set in the past but has a rather futuristic feel to it as there are mutants which is something that hasn't happened so it seems quite futuristic
The meaning of this film is to be comfortable in your own skin

Narrative
Todoroths theory of having a narrative structure has been used in this with this which involves an equilibrium where everything is in order and balanced, then there is a disruption to the equilibrium and then there is a resolution which helps bring back the equilibrium
The narrative for x-men first class also uses claudie levi strauses theory of binary opposition, which is Good Vs Evil. We have the good mutants that are here to help defend the human race from the bad mutants. But this film makes it so the audience can relate to both sides of the argument. But despite the fact the "bad" mutants don't want to be experimented on or enslaved which is what they belive their outcome will be, the audience will obviously side with the "good" mutants as they are defending the human race which is easier for the audience to put themselves in the situation of a civilian and therefor side with the mutants that are trying to defend the human race.
The basic narrative for this is that there are two sets of mutants the ones that fear the human race and decide that the best way to deal with them is by wiping them out or enslaving them to become rulers of their ideal world, where mutants don't feel the need to hide this set of mutants are the enigmas and are the main part of the disequalibrium as they want to create a dystopian world. The other set of mutants are the antagonists that want to defend the human race and feel what the bad mutants are doing is immoral and the only way to stop them is by fighting them, which helps to save the human race.
The costume and makeup for this film is very elaborate and has carefully been thought out. This film was made after the first X-men films but the time eriod is made before them so they have to carefully make the characters such as mystique look younger and yet have some resemblence to the mystique in the previouse films that were made. Form
This is a film that has been produced to market to a mass audience to entertain the audience and make money off of them if the film does well enough they will be able to market this film with products and promotional deals
Content and meaning
The Mise en Scene within this has been encoded (everything has been purposefully placed) in a way that is meant to help create the preferred reading (Stuart Hall 1980).
this can be done in several different ways including camerawork, sound, editing, production process, narrative as well as costume and makeup
non diegetic

Hello my name is James, I'm working for FD. Today I will be
talking about 2Oth Century Fox. To start off with I will be talking about the
ownership of 20th century fox. 21st Century Fox owns 20th Century Fox. But
before I start there are a few key terms you need to know. Conglomerate this
means 21st century Fox, owns several other companies that are made up of many
different companies these are called subsidiaries. 20th century fox is a
subsidiary to 21st century fox, but 20th century fox also owns several other
subsidiaries itself including Blue Sky Studios and TSG Entertainment just to
name a few. 20th Century Fox was made by a merger of two companies 20th Century
Pictures and the Fox Film Corporation as well as FNM films. This means they
both combined together to make one whole company. Another example of this would
be Sirius satellite radio and XM radio they both merged together to make
SiriusXM. The reason as to why a lot of company's merge together can be for
several different reasons it might be to dominate a certain market or for
financial stability, or to help a company specialise in more than one place
encase of financial crisis but it all leads to money in the end. 20th Century Fox
isn't an independent company, an example of
a company that would be Warp Films, Warp is an independent company
because they are not owned by another company and aren't part of a conglomerate
and therefore make all their products by themselves with little to no help
there are several disadvantages of this including no cross-promotion and
therefore less exposure for a product and therefore a limited profit can be
made most independent films appeal to quite a niche audience. 20th Century Fox
on the other hand are the polar opposite
to an independent company they are a conglomerate which I have already gone
over these try and appeal to a mass audience which usually results in a much
higher profit and these generally specialise in many more types of films also a
conglomerate is a much more easier platform to promote on using audio and
visual promos.
Now onto the
operating model this is how different parts of the company work together to
make a successful product this involves the production and promotion of a
product. 20th Century Fox has vertical integration. This means they control the
production, distribution and consumption of a product so it is pretty much
everything from conception to birth they have full control of. On the other
hand independent companies usually have some form of Horizontal Integration this
means they have some way of distributing a product it can usually be means of a
website which most companies have including warp but it is harder for them to
distribute to a mass audience as they don't have vertical intergeneration which
means they don't own the products to promote so it will probably cost them more
money. Even though fox on the other hand have a whole range of formats they can
promote on to gain more exposure for example a film made by 20th century fox
can be promoted on sky as they are all a part of the same conglomerate but they
also have a radio station which would cost them little to no money to reach a
mass audience to hype up a film. Being part of vertical integration for a
company is very good for exposure and consumption which in the end leads to a
profit. The operating model is also split into 3 stages of production pre-production
this is everything that is needed before the making of a film so this is the
stage that a script writing team would be needed, location scouting would be
done, and story boarding would be done as well as hiring cast. This is a
crucial part that has to be done before you move onto the next step, which is
production this is the making of the film itself this includes filming and
directing a film the editing would also be done at this stage as well as
make-up and costume correct lighting is also crucial for this stage. This leads
me to the final stage of the process which is post-production this as you can
probably guess is everything that is done after the film has been produced so
this involves adding CGI, video editing as well as any SFX which is something
you are more lightly to find in a 20th century fox film as they like to go into
many different genres on the other hand warp are into more realistic, raw type
of film which is going to be cheaper to make than a film with a lot of CGI in
it. Now on to the products that 20th century fox make. they create and design
products that are marketed towards a global audience. Fox do not specialize in
one specific media product as they have several different media forms they are
involved in they own sky which is a company that broadcasts television via a
pay service as well as this they also own a radio station and have things on it
such as Fox news radio or Fox sports radio just to name a few. But they mainly
specialize and are most well-known for creating films. A few examples of said
films include First Daughter which was released on September 24, 2004 this film
cost 20 million dollars and ended up grossing 10.4 million dollars which is a
massive profit especially compared to an independent company, this type of
profit can be generated by means of cross promotion by using every outlet they
have available for promotion. One of the main reasons as to why fox have
generated so much money and have become so mainstream is because they cater
towards many different audiences with the range of content they produce films
that are PG such as Garfield the movie to films that are aimed towards a more
mature audience such as alien vs predator which is rated as a 15. 20th century
fox specifically specialize in films and television programs. An example of a
successful television program they own includes the Simpsons. 20th century fox
are a really successful company this is realised as to how long they have been
around and how successful they have been for so long. Also the fact they can
specialise in two really major forms of media and have maintained such a high
profit with the entire company having a net worth of five billion dollars.
Other companies that offer the same type of product include pixar, but a huge
difference between the two is that pixar only specialise in animation which
obviously makes a huge difference in profit as you can make only so much in one
form of media. They are also really successful internationally as fox are
successful in many different companies distributing films globally. Main
competitors against fox are Warner Bros as they too specialise in making films
directed to a global audience they are competitors because they are two
different companies aiming towards the same audience with the same type of
product so in turn they are both fighting to make the best films to grab the
audience and make sure they are the company with the best films coming out.
Warner bros have an operating income of 1.3 billion dollars which does put them
behind fox but regardless makes them a really successful company.
